Black Lives Matter and Data
During the global Black Lives Matter protests I produced analysed data from the Washington Post Police Shooting database and produced the visualisation right. Of the names in this list, none attempted to attack the police. None were fleeing. In 72% of occasions, Police body cameras were either turned off or unavailable. 58% had known symptoms of mental illness. 64% were unarmed (remembering that being in possession of weapons is a ‘sacred right’ in the USA).
The visualisation was picked up by the BBC and I was invited to a live telephone interview.

My E-Commerce Startup
Prior to moving into Data Science I founded a small e-commerce start-up in my hometown Nottingham. The business became a leader in the UK’s hot tub market through our data-led marketing efforts and went on to run for eight years. Notts TV’s Des Coleman interviewed me at our offices in Nottingham.
